This will also pick up your local fonts automatically, but in my experience so far, it will only pick up fonts that are inside your user share fonts TTF folder. So you might just need to take some manual steps to make sure that your fonts are inside that folder, and then you'll be all good on Linux as well. If you're using the online version of Figma, then you can still use local fonts as well, but you're gonna need to install the Figma Font Helper. Now, this one is only available for Mac and Windows. And I'll provide a link in the notes below this video to the instructions on how you can get that local font enabler set up on your system. Okay, now with that bit of housekeeping out of the way, back to the fonts. Updating the font applies to everyone in the file, not just you.And in the case of this lesson, we're building on this excellent article titled, A Comprehensive Guide To Typography Basics. You can use this approach to select an alternative font to use in your files. The missing fonts modal allows you to quickly update affected text layers. Make sure either the Figma Daemon, Figma Font Helper, or Font Service is running on your computer's activity monitor. Go to the Fonts section in your account settings to see if the font service is installed on your current device. You need to install the Figma font service to use your local fonts in Figma's browser app. Make sure the Figma font service is installed and working (browser only) Quit and restart the desktop app or refresh the browser app you're using to access Figma. If you've recently installed the Font Helper or a new font, you won't see those changes in Figma immediately.
